Natural Disappointment

I gave Brett the password to this site and I am highly dissapointed to see .... nothing new! He hasn't posted anything.
babababbabah!
Its almost as frustrating as me not doing my project for tomorrow. My Work and Families final where I am doing a 20minute presentation on "Funding Streams for Adults ReEntering the WorkForce."

"That sounds so interesting!!!" you say? I know. I thought of it myself.
I'm pretty awesome like that.

Anyways. This is a picture of my brother on his mission in Las Palmas Spain. That was a few years ago actually. But You see I am on the school computers, which I limited amount of files and pictures before the "age of my laptop." "Rachel tell me why you are not on your laptop?" Well... if you must ask, I shall tell you. It's crap. It keeps shutting down on me. It just decides to reboot whenever it feels like it. It all started when I decided that I deserved to get free music off of LimeWire. I stole 6 songs. I have been smitten.

I dont know why alot of things happen.

So I dont know why alot of things happen. And usually I don't really care. I suppose I am ambivalent to most of life as long as it doesnt affect me too much. Like why does Ian have a lighter on his belt buckle? Or why do people actually like cats? Seriously, its weird.
I don't usually need answers to lifes questions and I never understood why people would get "mad at God" for not answering their prayers or fixing questionable issues in there life.
But sometimes God puts us in places or situations so we can understand how other people might feel. I suppose so we can help others in the long run.

Last week I found out my cousin has tumors in his neck and lower body. I wish everyone who reads this could know him. I'm not exaggerating when I say -he's perfect. He's about Bretts age, and he is married to the happiest/most beautiful woman I've ever met and has 3 adorable children under the age of five. The whole family has brown eyes and curly blond hair. They are always nice and fun to be around- they are that family you look at and say -i want to be like them. His name is Jeff and he just graduated with his MBA and finally got a nice little house for his family. He's served in the Bishopric and I'm pretty sure has never even thought a bad thing in his entire life.

We are actually double cousins. Don't worry, we're not inbred. Our mothers are sisters and our dads are brothers. So we basically grew up together. He is the oldest of five kids (the second being the only girl) just like in my family. His family has always been the model for mine I think. I always copied his sister and shadowed them around. I was pretty obnoxious. But its their fault for being so cool.
Anyways, when we were little and we would get together at our regular cousin parties (I think the Parry/Millburns could relate to the cousin parties) I recall Jeff leading us in this "Bananna Dance." We would do it in front of the whole neighborhood and some people would actually stop and want to join. Usually there was only like 15 cousins (3-4 families) doing it but it felt like 100 kids running all over the place acting like... well, "bannanas."

Anyways, I just wanted to tell the world how cool he is. And I don't know why bad things- yes- like cancer even, sometimes happen to the best people. Seriously. It actually makes me not want to try to be good. I don't understand it. Its like this monster that takes the best people.
I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but I've never been through something like this. Something where agency wasn't an option. I've always fasted and prayed for people to make the right decision, even myself at times, but not for fate. So we are having another family/friend fast this weekend. And you don't have to comment whether you are or are not, but if you need to fast this month, and are stretching for a cause, fast for this family.

So I am gonna fast. I am going to pray. And no matter what the outcome I know God lives. I know there is a plan. And the best part of life is that everything I learned in Primary is true. No matter what happens, in the end all will be well as long as we love God the most, and understand that He would never want to hurt us or make us feel bad. He will be with my family, with Jeff, Kim, and their beautiful children for now and forever to comfort us and to give us miracles. I know those truths. So as long as I know that, I guess I don't need to know why alot of things happen.

Who can't love him!

So I have been really mean lately...

So I have been really mean lately. Maybe more stupid. Probably both. I don't know whats in the water but I want to slap everyone I meet. But thats mostly people who come into Subway. I wish I could slap them after I ask them each question about their sandwich if they dont immediately reply. "Six inch or a foot long? ... I said six in or a food long?" WHACK!
problem solved.

I think am experiencing serious career burnout. Oh well, it was a good 3 months of discounted sandwiches.

But thats not all I have been bad about. I have been really mean to Brett lately and I just wanted to publicly appologize.

I am really sorry for being very insensitive.

There. That feels better. So now to reassure myself why Brett and I are together I will proceed to list the reasons he likes me.
1. I lied to him and told him I like sports as much as he does
2. I can eat more than him (and most people)
3. I don't discourage the dipping of the cheese sandwich into hot chocolate (but I don't encourage it either)
4. I'm a girl
5. I'm alot like George Castanza, and Brett likes him too
Now a list of reasons why I am like George Castanza
1. We are both stingy
2. We both have big wallets
3. I almost picked something out of the trash the other day at work... like when George ate the maple bar out of the garbage (don't worry, I stopped myself and told myself that was NOT ok and I didnt have to go to such measures)
4. We both told people that we had careers in something we did not
George= architect
Rachel= accountant (thats another story)

to be continued....

Obviously the only thing she wants to talk about....

I'm back. I ran away from Papa when he was watching Animal Planet.
Otherwise I was thinking: wedding, wedding, wedding, subway, school, wedding, wedding, subway, subway... Brett Brett Brett.

There was no time for Blogging.

So here's some things on my mind and I wondered, what if I just ask for opinions?

Its about the wedding dinner so obviously Ron has the final say and can veto this out of the water.
But the ceremony is at 3:40 pm, the reception at 7:30..... the dinner is supposed to be crammed in there. I think it would be sufficient time... but it might not be enough time. What if we had a luncheon at like 12:45 pm- sharp to 2pm ish.

i am worried that will break up the day for people to much. And mostly be annoying for people coming from out of town. But I always thought it would be nice to lengthen the wedding... its not like you get to have your own wedding every day.
That way the reception could start at like 6:30 or whatever.

Does anyone have an opion on this. I haven't even asked Ron or my dad (aka the sugar daddies) so don't feel bad if I have to veto any comments.

This Guinea Pigs Name is Papa

Ok, Ok, I'm back. I just spent the last 5 days in Utah planning the most extravagant wedding known to man kind. Or Mormon kind....
Oh my. Sorry Pirate Joe, I had to delete the last entry because it was depressing to the Groom. And he gets to hear me vent and complain all the time anyways... so I have this sweet goal of not complaining for 24 hours... can I do it? Maybe another goal of not talking about my wedding for 24 hours? ...what was that? the world doesn't revolve around me???? I just got this memo. It probably got lost somewhere.

So if you are reading this. I can't tell you what is going to be at the reception, but it is more than me in a big puffy skirt and a million dollar cake... (that is a whole other story in which I can't dive into with this 24 hour complaining rule)
This thing, is so great, and if you are "human" or subject to human desires you will be very happy at this wedding. And no, it is not a basket of puppies... but that certainly is a good idea.

Sorry Pirate Joe. I didnt mean to delete those posts... just mine.
People fear not. I do not mean to offend the few, but precious contributors of the Rachel B Blog.
I love your postings with all my heart.

And I guess I should just do this.... but does anyone know how to add links to other pages? Like Matts.
I avoided adding because I kind of hoped they would delete the links to my page after they realized I wasn't saying anything cool.

Or maybe they thought I would write more about Brett.....
I just got this memo on my desk.....

oh the guinea pig? He was just meant to make you think if you kept reading, there would be something worthwhile about rodents here. Tricked ya!
