May in Pictures

Marie's fashion never dissapoints.
Marie visiting Momma at the gym. I wish I looked that good during a workout.

And yes, a baby can out climb me to.

Here is Marie and I at the marvelous Fairy Tale Land in Sacramento. Marie didn't care much for Cinderella's coach. What can I say? She's a feminist.

Memorial Weekend "Fiesta Day Parade" in Vacaville. For some reason we celebrate Mexico the weekend the rest of the country is honoring American Solidiers. At least Marie has got some Americana pride in her.
Diaper shot, I know, how crude of me. But a girl's gotta get comfy.

Fin.

Adrienne's Wedding.. Revisited.

Obsessed? Maybe. I can't seem to quench my blogging thirst at the moment. I feelt it's because there are some blogs I have not fully completed. So that brings us to here, Adrienne's reception revisited. Thank you for all the pictures, other people who don't lose cameras at vital picture taking times.
This is my gorgeous cousin and her "rock star" husband. Who cuts the cake with sunglasses? I guess rockstars do. I better get used to it as I'm sure I'll be doing cakes for all the celebrities someday.

This is my big brother Jesse, with his little guy Max. Max is so chill.

These are all my family's grandkids. It's kind of cool to be the first with kids, or the oldest of all the cousins....

...espescially when you know how to party with Beth. This girl is awesome.

Maresa, Max, Mom, Beth, Me, Marie, Adrienne, Lana

This is my nephew (as of last September). He drives everyone baby crazy with his face. How could I not post this? Feeling a little baby hungry I think.

I feel like my last blog I didn't discuss the cake enough. Here it is. Take it in. It was actully the EASIEST cake I've ever made. It was fun because Adrienne just gave me her colors (black and pink) and I made the rest up. Here you have a 3 teir "quilted" fondant that has been pearlized (shimmered). Topped with black feathers and a few soft pink roses. Feathers were blowin' in the wind, otherwise they were awesome. The sheet cake is topped with fresh black berries.

I had to post this, (not only because I am actually working on my wedding album! Wahoo it might get done in this decade!) but my cousin and her husband actually started cutting and serving the cake at their reception. Maybe it's in the Youngberg genes. We just dig in and get 'er done.

In othernews I have another cake in 2 weeks. My second "paid gig." I'm so nervous... but not too nervous.

Whenever I need a reality check though I go here ..http://www.cakewrecks.blogspot.com/

Note: my blog is void of any jokes because you will need all your energy for above website.

You're welcome.

John & Cassie are on the "Cool List"

Last Tuesday at 5:30am John called and woke me up, saying he was at our front door.  They drove all night.

(Rachel writing now, Brett got burned out with the first sentence. What can he say? Blogging is hard).

It's true, John  and Cassie came early Tuesday morning and much to Marie's chagrin they left on Saturday. But fun times were had. We did an A's game. Brett could probably tell you if we won or lost, but I just have to say that Marie did really great. Of course you know a Mom is blogging when they rate every event by how their toddler behaves. Anywhosers, that game was grand. John and Cassie were easy to please. The only requirements for entertainment was a cheap A's game and a visit to the Full House house.
Here is where the "Tanner Family" had a pinic in the opening credits of Full House. This row of houses is referred to as "The Painted Ladies" and provides one of the best views of the city. What am I, a tour guide? Yes.

This is the official house. You may notice it does not have the original door.

We headed to see Fisherman's Warf later. It was weird for me because I never really know if it's the last time I'll go there. Probably not. Here is John juggling knives. He was victim to a creepy magicians cheap antics. But John was a good sport and played along.

Back in Vacaville we played at Maries favorite park.
She seems to get along with older kids mostly.

Other than that we played a few rounds of Ticket to Ride, a game loved by all. We ate lots of good food. And Cassie and I went to Costco, which is always fun for me. John and Cassie are gone now though, soaking up the sun in Mexico on their cruise. I've never done the cruise thing, but I hear they are all that and a bag of chips. Or at least all the chips you can eat. I think we'll go on one in a few years. Actually I've been saying that for the last decade. We'll see if it happens. Any takers if we go?
