Blame it on the rain

Brett here and my rage is exceeded only by my bitterness. My car was stolen. Rachel took it to Boise for the weekend. No problem, right? My roommate has a bike for me to ride around on for a weekend. But the rain on Friday made it so my butt was all muddy while at school, so I didn't like it anymore. Bikes, while seemingly convenient, are not. Bikes are dumb.

I woke up this morning and it was snowing like crazy. It shouldn't snow on April 16th, and it shouldn't snow the one weekend without a car. I didn't want to bike to school in the mess. I remember how my friend has a car that he never uses. He's married and its there 3rd car. The old junker. The perfect solution to get around for a day. When I call he's way nice and says, "I'll go get a battery for it right now." I say, "You don't need to do that." He says, "I've been meaning to, I need to sell it, so I might as well get it now." So we get that battery and I drive off to school.

It stalls every quarter mile, but starts right back up shortly. But its gotten me to the 3 or 4 places I needed to go. I was driving back from the Saturday night session of stake conference and it stalled. I coasted to the side, it didn't start right back up, but I wasn't worried because I figured it just needed to rest for a second.

But

Then

The cop pulls up behind me

The cars registration is expired

The insurance is expired

I attempt an explanation of how its my friends car and he never drives it, but he's getting it all fixed up now, and I just drove it this one day. To no avail. Society demands my punishment.

The cost of me being too much of a crybaby to bike in the snow for one day is $162.

I hope my next blog entry is cheaper.

Sounds like a Seinfeld episode to me. Speaking of which, I ate at the Bizarro diner yesterday.

I can't believe your car got stolen! First Mike and Christen's now yours. Sounds like the Millburns have a curse

I was unclear. My car wasn't stolen. I was meaning it was stolen by Rachel going to Boise. But thinking of how my car could have really been stolen does make the $162 easier to swallow.

Brett with your first post in the blogosphere, I now see why this blog is called, "blogs are finally uncool." Boo-yah!

I thought it was obvious that Brett's car had been 'stolen' by Rachel. It doesn't make sense to have a real stolen car, and then proceed to tell everyone an unrelated story.

I would like to congratulate Brett on putting links up... the back button on my browser was starting to wear out.

Okay, obviously I hadn't read the blog as thoroughly as I should have.

Since I am now co-manager of this site, there will be no name calling, and no annoying other people with their comments. Just kidding, then why else would people come to the site? Proceed as you were...
