It's 10:59 pm and I'm sewing couch cushions. I'm back in Misawa and need to get back to blogging every Sunday, but what did I do instead?
It's not completely my fault. While in the states I stayed with my inlaws, the Smiths. I have this quirky overly creative genius brother in law who is always doing interesting things. Building a robot. Building a pirate canon. Building a bowling alley in his basement. About three years ago he asked me to sew some couch cushions for a tent-trailer he was revamping. I did it. It took me literally a year to sew him 10 couch cushion covers, but it was actually quite fun. In the process I learned how to sew... couch cushion covers.
Being around this quirky fellow is quite fun. Once you see all of the crazy awesome projects he does is really inspiring. So a week after seeing him I found myself at Jo Ann's Fabrics with my dad picking out fabrics. (My dad was a sport, and I actually love his taste so it was super fun for me). We found lots of fabric, which I bundled up into a suitcase... weighing roughly 75lbs. Yes I hauled 75lbs of fabric across the ocean. And here I am...
