Still In Shock

It's true. Or as they would say in Japan: " it' 本当s"
We're still in shock, needless to say. But I will try to give you the best update I can.
We are moving to Japan this summer.
We will live there for 2 years.
To a place called Misawa.
It's a 3 hour train ride to Tokyo, or a 10 hour car ride.

We are 16 hours ahead of Mountain time. We will try to blog everyday to let you know if it's going to be a bad day or a good day.

I don't have to worry about fitting in. They look sufficiently Westernized.

Here is a photo from Misawa. This is were Brett and I will re-enact Twilight. Marie will film and direct.

I will find this and report to you what they are. Or just pretend I'm at Disneyland.

We will also take lots of colorful, yet blurry pictures that will assure you we are having a fast-paced, culturally diverse time.
Well that is all. Charles wins. But with an asterisk, because he named 3 places. To redeem himself he will have to come visit. As will you all. Again, I'm not joking and I know where you all live.
I know, I know- you were probably expecting me to lay on the Asian jokes, but seeing as they will be my neighbors I will abstain. Seriously though, we are glad and thankful.

Congratulations! Maysen wants to visit. Jorja is scared to visit because "Japan isn't a free country" I guess they had quite the veterans day at school . . . .

That is AWESOME. I totally want to come visit you now! Japan is way cooler than San Fransisco! (heh heh...) I'm jealous. Totally jealous.

If you need help with the culture and language, just ask me or Zack. Zack worked for a japanese company and we went to Japan a few years ago. I can totally order a hamburger at McDonalds. *ahem* "Han-ba-ga pudease?" That's "Hamburger, please?" I know, I know. I'm totally bilingual!

Wow! How fun for you both! My bro and sis-in-law were stationed in Korea for 3 years and I visited them there. It was beautiful and they had a great time learning another culture. Maybe I could dust off my passport and visit you in Japan! Congratulations!

Wow! I'm sort of shocked - however, I think you kind of knew you'd be going there. At least I remember you telling me you would like it. I'm sad (surprisingly I'm crying) you will be so far away but I think you will have an awesome adventure and I would really love to come visit you sometime - although I doubt that will happen in the next two years unless I come into some money...
When do you leave exactly?? Now I really, really think you need stay home for Thanksgiving so we can hang out.

Oh wow. Guess my vibes were off. But what an adventure you will have!

Here is what I know:

One of my Mia Maids tells me that they are 30 years ahead of us fashionwise, so stock up.

You may remember Russ went there on the mish. He makes these pancakes and you put this green stuff on top that starts to move. Do not worry. It is not alive. The heat from the pancake just makes it crinkle up.

If I hear anything else, I will be back here in a flash.

And I will be expecting that daily forecast.

Much love, peace and those pictures are awesome.

So happy for you!
And so happy for technology that allows us to still see into your lives, even though you will be away. HOpefully we can get a Posse Christmas Party together that everyone can be at! Think about Dec 21st, tentatively

I am missing you already.

Am I the only one who is a little bit sad by this?! Excited for you, of course, but still a little sad... unless you plan on visiting?
