Apparently our Nation's Capital is a pretty big deal.
Just kidding, of course it is. It's just that interesting.
Brett had to fly to D.C. to get sworn in to The Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. I drove up there 14 hours to see him- and yes it was SO worth it. I'm so darn proud of him.
It was a great experience. First of all as a couple it was really neat to do something exciting, stay at a nice hotel (Marriott -HoLLeR WhAt!) and have a nice romantic time before little baby Marie comes. (That's right, i slipped a name).
It was really cool to meet some of the big shots in charge of the Military. I have to say I am so impressed with many of the high ranking military people I meet because of two things: 1. They are humble and gracious & 2. They make a BIG deal about their families.
Every successful high-ranking official will always come out and tell you how important their spouse is to their success and how essential their family is in balancing their life.
I'm one of the few spouses that gets to be around all the JAG students when officials talk about these issues and I am so thankful for that. I like being a part of something that is realistic about life and includes the family as intergral part of progress and accomplishment.
I'm not saying the military (or any man-made institution) is perfect, however it feels so good to know that I personally respect alot of Brett's bosses, all the way up the chain.

I love the pictures. . .especially the last one. You are a beautiful couple and the name Marie is perfect!

Also thanks for reading our blog!
On a serious note, I think we're going to need Brett for our game on Tuesday.
Rachel,
This is Andrea, sister of Becky, and long lost friend.
A couple things...
1) Great blog. Becky told me about your online life, or life as posted online, and I've been a semi-faithful reader.
2) Next time you venture to DC, tell me! I live in the District, you know, and it pains me that I missed an opportunity to reunion with one of my favorite Idahoans. :( Like I said, next time...
Good look with everything and a belated congrats on almost being a parent!
